Katie, last night: I don’t really, I don’t really know. I’m just curious. I’m just curioso.

Still waiting to collect last night’s notes from an outside source, but in the meantime, check out this guy. The November 16 post is my favorite…oh, wait…I just saw the first one from November 12. So hard to choose! Plus, the audio clips just made my day. I can’t wait until Katie starts saying dark, caustic things in her sleep!

Katie, last night: Basically, I look at it and I feel -whoosh- sleep.
Just to clarify, she actually did make the “whoosh” sound. As far as complexity goes, I must say that the first night (or very early morning, rather) of this experiment far exceeded my expectations; I never expected Katie to be talking about sleep in her sleep. As far as why this happened, though, I have two explanations:
1) She was talking to someone in her dream about viewing my first blog post which makes her “feel -whoosh- sleep” nearly instantly because she is so eager to participate in this experiment!
2) She was talking about C-SPAN.
Alternate interpretations are welcome and encouraged, though I deny all responsibility if you enter into the discussion and then start having uncanny parallel dreams. I mean if Inception taught us anything, it’s that weird shit happens when you get too deeply involved in other peoples’ dreams, right?
Hello, sleepyheads! I am starting the Sleepy Genius Project with creative inspiration from my roommate Katie. While perfectly witty and charming during the daytime, she is also surprisingly eloquent when she talks in her sleep at night (and trust me, this happens quite frequently).
The purpose of this project is not to poke fun at my lovely roommate; rather, it is to explore the mysterious discourses of the brain at rest and provide some speculative interpretation. And so, notebook next to my bed, I shall begin tonight!
But first, a no-brainer ground rule: I will never publish any of Katie’s musings without her permission.
Whether you have heard Katie narrate her nighttime meanderings or not, this should be an interesting project to follow. I’m signing off for the night, but keeping my ears open here on the bottom bunk.
Sweet dreams and goodnight!
